Breadboards are handy for quickly prototyping Arduino projects on the workbench but they're no good for making a more permanent project. The ProtoShield Basic is a low-cost Arduino prototyping shield that enables you to make more durable or permanent projects. It fits directly onto an Arduino or Freeduino compatible board such as the TwentyTen and has a large general-purpose area in the middle where you can solder on your own parts. They're designed to be so cheap that you can keep a few around your workshop just in case you get the urge to build something. The PCB surface is gold-plated for maximum durability and it has connection markings on both the top and the bottom for easy identification.
